According to Deadline, ‘The Flight Attendant’ actress Zosia Mamet has been confirmed to cast in ‘Madame Web’, a new film set in the ‘Spider-Man’ universe.

The film will star Dakota Johnson and already has Sydney Sweeney, Isabela Merced, Celeste O’Connor, Mike Epps, Tahar Rahim, Emma Roberts and Adam Scott in the cast.

SJ Clarkson is directing the film. She directed episodes of the series ‘Collateral’, ‘Jessica Jones’ and ‘Defenders’. Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, authors of ‘Morbius’, are writing the project.

Recalling that, in the comics, Madame Web appeared in the 1980s, as an elderly woman, trapped in a system, similar to the webs, which allows her to live, and endowed with powers of clairvoyance and psychic abilities. Everything indicates that Sony should turn the character into something similar to Doctor Strange.

“Madame Web” will be released in theaters on October 6, 2023.
