Robert KingThe Hollywood industry is well known for being a factory for making stars, however, this same structure can be very cruel to get rid of your products which no longer “work” as well and generate more profit. This is precisely the case with most of the objects in this new story. With the arrival of the 2000s, a new decade is dawning, ready to unfortunately wipe off the map some young talents who had shown promise in the middle to the end of the previous decade: the 90s.
Don’t get me wrong, these actors we’ll feature below are still active and continue to work in the field – whether in television or in film productions. What happens is that with their explosion in the so-called 15 minutes of fame, these artists were expected to become Hollywood legends, following the same fate as the big stars and stars who have started very young; names like Tom Cruise, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Will Smith, Scarlett Johansson, among others, started in the region in their youth and have managed to stay at the top of the industry food chain. A fact that has not happened with the artists that we are going to celebrate in this new article.
Check out the movies with Hot Stars from the 2000s who will turn 21 in 2022 and you hadn’t even heard of them.
Virtual threat
The “Virtual Threat” poster features Ryan Phillipe (center), Rachael Leigh Cook (left), and Claire Forlani (right).
Perhaps the most “adult” film on the list, this MGM thriller was Ryan Phillipe’s attempt to embark on a new phase in his career. Guess what, the actor also released the horror hit …Summer Past and quickly followed up with more ambitious productions, see Studio 54, Second Intentions, Hearts in Love and Cold Blood. Here, Phillipe plays a computer programmer who hits hard when he gets a job at a renowned company. The proposal here is to play with the character of Bill Gates by asking the question: what if the computer millionaire was a bad genius? Who plays the “evil Gates” is Tim Robbins. The cast also includes two female names from the past: Rachael Leigh Cook (revealed in She’s Too Much – 1999) and Claire Forlani (revealed in Encounter – 1998).
Young people disturbed by the supernatural: Melissa Sagemiller, Wes Bentley, Eliza Dushku and Casey Affleck.
We end the list with this horror work, which few have heard of. The film, however, is proud to show on its poster that it has the same producers of empty hits I Know What You Did Last Summer and Urban Legend. Additionally, director Stephen Carpenter has a famous last name, although he is not related to the legendary John Carpenter. Hallucination is a supernatural horror film that tells the story of a group of friends returning from a night of partying and drinking, when they are startled and have a car accident. After some of them survive, they begin to be disturbed by supernatural manifestations. Who plays is Eliza Dushku, who started as a teenager in the film True Lies (1994), by James Cameron, and then toured in series such as Buffy, Tru Calling and Dollhouse, in addition to the horror Panic in the Forest. At his side, Casey Affleck (the only one who prospered), Wes Bentley and Melissa Sagemiller.
Texas Rangers – Above the Law
Ashton Kutcher, James Van Der Beek, Dylan McDermott and Usher are the Texas Rangers.
Young James Van Der Beek stars in this $38 million Western from Dimension Films. Who you ask? Well, you wouldn’t say that if you lived in the 90s. That way you’d know that the actor had a lot of success as Dawson, in the number 1 teen series at the end of this decade: Dawson’s Creek. The show was created by the same Kevin Williamson of Scream. And this Texas Rangers, ambitious western whose proposal was perhaps to be the new The Young Guns, featuring rising actors in the cast, is directed by Steve Miner, then fresh off the Halloween hit H20 (1998 ). In addition to Van Der Beek, the feature also had the presence of Ashton Kutcher, Usher Raymond and Rachael Leigh Cook, all at the start of their careers.

Health update! Jennifer Love Hewitt and Sigourney Weaver are daughter and mother in the comedy “Sweet Hustle.”
We start the list with this comedy starring muse Jennifer Love Hewitt. You remember her? The actress rose to prominence in the 90s through the hit drama series Party of Five – The Quintet (1995-1999), which would produce yet another spin-off exclusively for her character, Time of Your Life. Prior to that, Hewitt starred in the historical horror film I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997), which spawned a sequel in 1998, also starring her. Twenty years ago, in 2001, the young woman took one of her most ambitious steps here at Doce Trapaça, where she played the daughter of veteran Sigourney Weaver. In the plot, mother and daughter are two con artists, who live by scamming rich men and stealing their money. The film also has the legendary Gene Hackman in the cast. Have you ever heard of it?
The Harvard Boy
Fight for success! Rebecca Gayheart twists Sarah Michelle Gellar’s arm without realizing the danger, after all, she is playing with Buffy.
Speaking of the beloved ’90s cult classic I Know What You Did Last Summer, another veteran of such a feature makes it to our list. Sarah Michelle Gellar became one of the most beloved Scream Queens of the 90s after starring not only in the aforementioned film, but also making an appearance in the phenomenon Scream 2, released in the same year of 1997. But the actress would even mark the decade by personifying the defining role of his career, Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-2003), created by Joss Wheadon. With the onset of the 2000s, Gellar’s career began to take a slight dip, culminating in this rather obscure production, about a college student who makes a deal with the mob to “fix” the score of a match. of basket ball. In addition to Gellar, the cast also includes popular names of the era, see Adrian Grenier, Joey Lauren Adams and Rebecca Gayheart.
Young Punishers
Colin Farrell gives Ali Larter “enough” but left the girl’s career “in the dust” when he became a star.
Another big Western production, this one paid for by Warner for the “trifle” of 35 million dollars. Here we have a sort of Robin Hood tale set in the Wild West, with young gunmen taking from the rich and giving to the poor. Unlike the other items on this list, we have the presence of an actor who was just starting his career, but managed to do well in the middle; it’s Colin Farrell. Worst luck had its up-and-coming supporting actors: Scott Caan (son of James Caan) and blonde Ali Larter – who never became Hollywood A-team stars. Interestingly, Caan and Larter had their big breaks in the hit MTV football movie Tight Marking (1999), which was Larter’s first film and starred the aforementioned James Van Der Beek.
Summer game
Watch out for Timberlake. Freddie Prinz Jr. feeling Jessica Biel’s belly.
Speaking of sports, here’s a movie about baseball and romance. Once again, a veteran cast member from the much-quoted I Know What You Did… (1997) arrives. This time it’s Freddie Prinze Jr. who appears here, Sarah Michelle Gellar’s real-life husband. Freddie was featured in several romance movies at the time and even had his own TV series in the mid-2000s – which sadly flopped in the first season. In this film, he plays a humble boy who struggles to become a professional baseball player. He meets and develops a crush on a wealthy young woman, making this plot almost a remake of Dirty Dancing, trading dancing for gambling. Who plays his love is Jessica Biel, in her first leading film role – an actress which also did not take off as it should. Rounding out the cast are Matthew Lillard and the late Brittany Murphy.
Cats in a flight
Jerry O’Connell paints a perfect caricature of the beautiful Shannon Elizabeth in ‘Cats in a Lot‘.
Starring in this no-frills comedy are three young actors from the 2000s, whose careers sadly stalled in Hollywood’s secondary territory. Who plays is Jerry O’Connell, who was a child actor in Stand By Me (1986) and in the 90s took part in Scream 2 and had a cult series – Sliders (1995-2000). Shannon Elizabeth, who is a romantic partner of the actor, played the role of beauty Nadia in the American Pie franchise films, and Jake Busey, well, in addition to being the son of Gary Busey, also has had its share of success with The Spirits (1996) and Starship Troopers (1997). Here the plot is about a bet between friends on who will be the last bachelor to get married. The task can become difficult when the women in their life begin to emerge.
