Excellent work by the ASTROS of ‘The Boys’ in the film and the series

Robert KingThe series The Boys, available on Prime Video, is undoubtedly one of the most critically and publicly acclaimed projects in recent years. The story, based on a comic book written by duo Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, follows superheroes who have a sinister side when out of the spotlight, use their powers for mayhem, come into conflict with a group whose main objective is to stop their actions. A curiosity, the leaders of the two groups that form in the plot are interpreted by two New Zealand actors.
The cast of this series is wonderful and with a great job already seen in other projects. But since some faces are unknown to most audiences, here are some great works by some ‘The Boys’ artists from film and TV:
Karl Urban (Billy Butcher)

New Zealander Karl Urban is one of the most recognizable faces on the show. His first acting role came at the age of eight and over the years he appeared in many local TV commercials as well as theater roles while still in New Zealand. In 2002, his career took off when he landed the role of Éomer in The Lord of the Rings – The Two Towers. Another career highlight was his role as Dr. McCoy in the Star Trek feature film directed by JJ Abrams.
Jack Quaid (Hughie)
Born on April 24 (the same day I’m writing to you), California great actor Jack Quaid is the son of two major movie stars Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid. He made his theatrical debut in The Hunger Games and in 2022 was cast in Scream. He will be in Christopher Nolan’s next film, the highly anticipated Oppenheimer.
Antony Starr (Homeland/Captain of Homeland)
One of The Boys’ most impressive performers, Antony Starr and his Homelander are capturing everyone’s attention. The New Zealand actor took part in the beginning of his career in the series Xena – The Warrior Princess, and in 2013 he was the protagonist of the great series Banshee.
Erin Moriarty (Starlight/Starlight)
New Yorker Erin Moriarty started acting at the age of 11 and appeared on series such as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. In the cinema, she made her debut 10 years ago in the film 3rd Degree Immediate Neighbours, later she was cast in the great Captain Fantastic and was even the daughter of Mel Gibson in Inheritance of Blood.
Jessie T. Usher (A-Train / Bullet Train)
After studying culinary arts at university, American Jessie T. Usher entered the world of theater by making her debut in an episode of the series Sans trace (Desaparecidos, in Brazil) in 2005. He then made appearances in episodes of other series such as The Mentalist, Hannah Montana, Criminal Minds among other television productions. In 2016 he was one of the protagonists of Independence Day: Resurgence and more recently he is a cast member of the recently released thriller Smile.
Chace Crawford (The Deep)
Texan Chase Crawford, the son of a professor and a dermatologist, when he decided to pursue an acting career worked as a valet to help pay his bills when he was trying to take a big break in his career. In 2006, he managed to enter the world of cinema in the film directed by Renny Harlin, The Pact. The following year, he became a world famous face by playing Nate Archibald in the hit series Gossip Girl.
Elisabeth Shue (Madelyn Stillwell)
One of the most recognizable names in the cast having made it into the show’s first season, the veteran actress was even nominated for a Best Actress Oscar for her fabulous performance in Farewell to Las Vegas, where she starred in alongside Nicolas Cage. She also participated in the classic Karate Kid in 1984, in addition to the film O Santo in the late 90s.
Giancarlo Esposito (Stan Edgar)
The son of an American opera singer and an Italian carpenter, Giancarlo was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. A graduate in communication, he entered the world of the arts at the end of the 1960s, where he made his stage debut on Broadway in the musical Maggie Flynn (1968). Credited in more than 190 productions, including films, series and plays, the experienced actor has, among other great works, been the unforgettable Gus Fring of Breaking Bad, participated in Do the Right Thing by Spike Lee , as well as the excellent film The Usual Suspects. , directed by Bryan Singer.
Tomer Capone (French)
Israeli Tomer Capone, before entering the magical world of cinema and after graduating from high school, was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces. He served as a private and served as a squadron leader in a battalion in the Parachute Brigade. Then, he entered an art school and began his career in 2015. Throughout the still-short career that began in 2016, he successfully competed in Suicide Squad that same year and recently competed in the fun Bullet Train with Brad Pitt.
Laz Alonso (Breast Milk / Leitinho)
The 48-year-old American actor has more than two decades of experience, with numerous appearances in action projects. He recently starred in Guy Ritchie’s The Departed, and previously starred in the first film in the Fast and Furious franchise and also James Cameron’s megahit Avatar. Her next upcoming project is a thriller titled Detained directed by filmmaker Felipe Mucci, with Australian actress Abbie Cornish as the protagonist.
Jensen Ackles (Soldier Boy)
The 44-year-old American actor, born in Dallas, rose to fame around the world on the hit series Supernatural, where he played Dean Winchester for 15 years in more than 320 episodes. He recently joined the cast of The Boys as a hard-hitting character!
