Waiting for the anthology murder mystery to return? Let’s talk about The Afterparty season 3. Since the release of the second season, the audience has been waiting for the release of the third. The show has different premises for both seasons that are streaming.

The initial season of The Afterparty follows a high-school reunion with each episode focused on ’a different character’s perspective’ of what happened at ‘the night’. On the other hand, the second season takes place after the day of a wedding.

With that in mind, spectators are curious to see another season. We all need a good murder mystery once again! Let’s see if the show is renewed for a third season.

Is There ‘The Afterparty’ Season 3 Release Date?

If you’re wondering about The Afterparty season 3 release date then it’s not confirmed by the team. But there’s good news. The Afterparty season 3 is most likely happening. It will return for another season.

Though the streaming network and the team didn’t officially confirm the return of the show, there are statements and hints that make it a possibility.

The co-creator Chris Miller of The Afterparty talked about the happening of season three. Miller said that there are definitely a lot of plans. “There is a lot in store and we have a lot of plans. You never know who might pop up as the world expands, which allows for more fun.”

In January 2023, The Afterparty’s third season was announced to be in early development. The executive producer Katie Miller of the show announced the return via Instagram live. The official statement reads, “Day 1… [of] The Afterparty S3.”

In fact, the second season ended with a hint that another one is on the way. Once the new season is confirmed we can expect more specific details on the release date. It’s impossible to know the exact date but if the season is renewed anytime by now, then we can expect it by 2024

The Team Of ‘The Afterparty’ Are On Strike

There are a lot of ideas and plans for The Afterparty. The team member King of the show said that they do have ideas but are on strike currently. This is likely the reason the renewal announcement is not confirmed and things are on pause.

“We have a lot of ideas, but right now we’re on strike. So until the AMPTP comes back to the table and makes a good deal with the writers, none of those things can come to fruition. They all have to stay just ideas, so we’re waiting on that.”

By the statement, it clearly means that the team is waiting to move forward.

Miller even confirmed by saying, “We are on strike right now so currently not working on anything but hopefully studios can make a fair deal and pay writers a good living wage.” The creative team of The Afterparty is definitely intending for another season.

Who Will Return If There’s ‘The Afterparty’ Season 3?

Though nothing is confirmed we can still speculate the cast. Between the first and second seasons, only three characters made a return. We can expect Tiffany Haddish, Zoë Chao, and Sam Richardson to make a return in the third season too.

Apart from that, The Afterparty is an anthology series and we can get to watch new characters making an appearance with a more twisted storyline.
