Everything You Need To Know About That ‘90s Show Season 2

That '90s Show Season 2

That ’90s Show is a period teen sitcom set in the summer of 1995, based on characters and locations from its predecessor, That ’70s Show. Spectators are also wondering if there will be a second season.

The first season ended with Sherri dealing with her landlord, and Leia’s last day in town becomes confusing after Jay conveys doubts about a long-distance relationship. The series’ cast is phenomenal, and audiences are already adoring their roles. People are even making comparisons.

Netflix describes the series as “Kitty and Red Forman welcome a new generation of teenagers into their basement when their granddaughter Leia decides to spend her summer in Wisconsin.” The new characters are doing terrific, and they will only get better as the story continues. The episode is humorous and has just the right amount of nostalgia to keep us desiring extra. Let’s get into the details of a second season.

Is That ‘90s Show Renewed For A Second Season?

At the moment, the streaming platform Netflix has not made any announcements regarding story continuation. We are still waiting on official confirmation of a second season. However, expectations are high.

The first season was a success, which raises optimism for a second season. However, Netflix will take its time before announcing a new season. It will be evaluated, and we will see how the audience reacts, and if it is a success like the first one, we will get another season.

In that case, watch more and encourage your friends to do the same. We know people will enjoy it.

That '90s Show Season 2 Updates

What To Expect From That ‘90s Show If There’s A Season 2?

In a second season, we might see a love triangle. Because the previous episode of That ’90s Show hinted at a love triangle involving Leia Forman and two of her male friends. And that’s definitely a cliffhanger. It indicates that the writer wants to continue the story.

When asked if there would be a second season, Doi stated in an interview that they believe there will be one.

Doi revealed, “I think so. I think their plan was to do it every season in the summer. I think they said that in the interview.”

“That’s what I’ve heard, too, from (the creators) the Turners,” Donovan confirmed.

Haverda also noted that they are not trying to replicate That ’70s Show and that they are all unique in their own way.

“Each of us is our own character. None of us are trying to be copies,” Haverda said.

Ozzie also added, “We’re all unique, and everyone has their own special moments with the original cast. They were always by our side. It didn’t matter if they were only coming for that week or if they were only coming to a couple of times in the season. They were always really supportive.”

“They were all very welcoming. Welcomed us into their family,” says Donovan regarding the initial cast’s assistance.

Nikki added, “They’re very supportive of this new generation of Point Place kids. It’s really, really inspiring to see this old cast lift us up and support us in that way.”

Aufderheide explained that the team got along quite well not only on the show but also in real life.

“I think the chemistry that they had in ‘That ’70s Show’ where all the characters together really bonded — that’s what we wanted to have,” says Aufderheide. Adding, “We all get along really well in real life. We wanted that to flourish onscreen while being our own authentic characters.”

That ‘90s Show Season 2 Cast Expectations

If there is another season, we will mostly get to see the cast members from the first season. They will reprise their roles and make another grand appearance. The main characters include:

  • Kurtwood Smith as Red Forman
  • Debra Jo Rupp as Kitty Forman
  • Callie Haverda as Leia Forman
  • Ashley Aufderheide as Gwen Runck
  • Mace Coronel as Jay Kelso
  • Reyn Doi as Ozzie
  • Sam Morelos as Nikki
  • Maxwell Acee Donovan as Nate Runck

The official synopsis of the series reads, “Hello, Wisconsin! It’s 1995 and Leia Forman, daughter of Eric and Donna, is visiting her grandparents for the summer where she bonds with a new generation of Point Place kids under the watchful eye of Kitty and the stern glare of Red. Sex, drugs, and rock ’n roll never die, it just changes clothes.” You can even check out the official trailer below.

If there is a second season, it could arrive by the end of 2023 or early 2024. And now it is also dependent on renewal. You’re welcome to drop your speculations on a second season in the comment section below. And don’t forget to stay tuned with us for more updates.
