‘House Of The Dragon’ Season 2 Is On The Cards

Without a doubt, Season 2 of House of the Dragon is already in the creations. And after that ending of season one, we couldn’t wait to know what’s in store.

According to reports, the House of the Dragon season two is expected to premiere in 2024 and will consist of ten episodes.

Matt Smith also discussed how the upcoming season’s script was pretty late.

He said, “I got all the scripts on Friday, actually. They’re really late. It’s always the way, isn’t it? They always come in so late.”

The Team Is Excited About ‘House of the Dragon’ Season 2

Casey Bloys, HBO and HBO Max’s CEO, mentioned that the script is presently their top priority. And that they are looking forward to following the script for another season.

“My philosophy is a good script is the number one priority. I am not doing it based on wanting to have one a year, two a year. I want to do it based on the scripts that we’re excited about.”

He added, “Remember to get ‘House of the Dragon’ following up from ‘Game of Thrones,’ we developed a lot of shows, shot a pilot, developed a bunch of scripts and we got ‘House of the Dragon.’

To do that again is going to take the same amount of effort. You have to develop a lot of things, and try things. You never know what’s going to work. So we’re currently doing that. I’m not opposed to any number of shows.

There’s probably a natural limit to how many fans want, but I’m open to any as long as we feel really good about the scripts and the prospects for a series.”

“It takes a while to get one that hits the mark,” he adds. “I know George [R.R. Martin] feels the same way. You want to do one that everybody’s really proud of and excited about.”

House Of The Dragon Team Is All-In For Season 2

Francesca Orsi, executive vice president of HBO programming said in a statement, “We are beyond proud of what the entire House of the Dragon team has accomplished with season one.

Our phenomenal cast and crew undertook a massive challenge and exceeded all expectations, delivering a show that has already established itself as must-see TV.

A huge thank you to George, Ryan, and Miguel for leading us on this journey. We couldn’t be more excited to continue bringing to life the epic saga of House Targaryen with season two.”

She also said, “Because of the incredibly demanding production schedule of the show, facets of the show have to overlap with one another, which means that we were writing season 2 long before they ever announced it, while we were in post in season 1.

So we really have to storm right into the making of season 2 now in order to keep pace with our fans’ healthy appetites for material and HBO’s need and desire to release the show in a reasonable timeframe from season to season.”

We can’t wait to see how the story will turn out in season two. You’re welcome to stay tuned with us for more updates on the upcoming season.
