Eternos producer says homophobia is the cause of negative comments about the film

In just over a week in theaters, “Eternos” has already grossed $ 281.3 million worldwide.

But, as one of the most anticipated films of the year, the film directed by Chloe Zhao (‘Nomadland’) ended up disappointing critics, who bombarded the production with negative comments.

Becoming the lowest-rated film from Marvel Studios, ‘Eternals’ garnered just 47% approval ratings on Rotten Tomatoes.

However, producer Victoria Alonso suggested to Screen Rant that critics just don’t like her out of sheer homophobia and prejudice against the diversity of the cast.

In the plot, Phastos (Brian Tyree Henry) experiences a same-sex relationship, while Kingo (Kumail Nanjiani) has strong Indian traits, while Gilgamesh (Ma Dong-seok) represents Asians.

While attending the Outfest Legacy Awards, the filmmaker said the following:

Have fun watching:

“The critics won’t always agree with us and that’s okay. We agree with that. We thank the critics for writing about our productions. Fans will decide if the movie is good or bad. But diversity and inclusion is not a political game for us, it is something that we are 100% committed to because you cannot have the global success that we have given to The Walt Disney Company without the support of people all over the world, all kinds of human beings that exist.

Remember that the feature film is still showing in national cinemas!

So, have you ever watched?

Check out our review of “Eternals”:

Revision | Eternos is Marvel’s most artistic, complex and original film… for better or for worse!

‘Eternals’ follows the journey of quasi-immortal beings, products of the evolutionary divergence that gave birth to the human race millennia ago. The characters relate to several concepts already introduced in previous universe films, from the Celestials (who came out in “Guardians of the Galaxy”) to Thanos, whose own mother was one of his victims.

The cast also includes Salma Hayek (Ajak), Kumail Nanjiani (Kingo), Lauren Ridloff (Makkari), Brian Tyree Henry (Phastos), Lia McHugh (Sprite), Gemma Chan (Sersi), Kit Harington (Black Knight), Barry Kheogan (Druig) and Richard Madden (Ikaris).
