Recap of How I Met Your Father Season 2 Episode 8
After a bad cab ride, Sophie’s pals debate her incapacity to drive. As the conversation continues, each gang member admits they never achieved anything despite their best efforts. Valentina joins her best friend in admitting she cannot drive. Ellen tells the group she never expresses her displeasure at her coworker Rhonda, who invades her personal and professional space. Charlie admits he needs Ellen to shave.
Despite owning a bar, Sid must sip a beer. Jesse tells his pals he can’t vertical hoop. Sid suggests “rewardishment” since he and his pals each have one goal. He adds that the gang should complete their responsibilities in 48 hours to receive the “prize” of a giant sleepover and escape the “penalty” of drinking from the dripping drinking mat. Sophie discovers Valentina has a visual problem at driving school.
Will Sophie and Jesse Reunite?
Jesse educates Sophie when her driving teacher had a heart attack. Following class, Jesse shows Sophie a video of his goal after talking about his childhood hooping addiction. As Sophie is gazing at Jesse’s phone, a dating app notification unsettles her. Jesse apologizes, but he can date anyone now that he’s single. Sophie and Jesse’s uncomfortable encounter shows they haven’t moved on.
Sophie is still undecided about giving her and Jesse another shot. Since she hasn’t overcome her commitment difficulties and habits, Sophie won’t date Jesse. She broke up with him for the same reason, therefore she can’t risk reconnecting with him. Sophie knows Jesse’s sensitivity and may only want to get back together with him if she is sure she can keep a commitment.
Jesse may accept Sophie’s decision not to date. His apologies to Sophie for using dating apps shows he likes her. Jesse may not want to be unmarried while Sophie resolves her issues. He struggles to wait for Sophie when they may never meet again. Jesse’s partnerships to avoid Sophie are unlikely to last. Every new relationship will fail if he can’t get over his ex-girlfriend.
Hence, Sophie may not need to worry about Jesse dating. They may reunite if she alters her dating pattern and resolves commitment difficulties. Sophie and Jesse have always understood one other better than anybody, which is the core of their friendship. When the moment is perfect, such a foundation should hold them together.
