Through his YouTube channel, engineer Jake Laser decided to show how he built a fully functional replica of the Mark 5, one of the armors worn by Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) in “ Iron Man 2 ” .
For 20 minutes, Laser shows the first design of the project, created in 3D format in a computer program.
Then he explains that the armor is made from 45kg of rolled steel and consists of several individual pieces that connect together.
In an excerpt, he jokes that:
“There’s no easy way to create an Iron Man fully stretch metal costume without using stretch metal. I can’t find anything like it. I think we are doing something very innovative.
The best part is that the armor folds and unfolds, just like the Mark 5 in the movie … and the result was surprising.
