Emma Roberts joins Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney in ‘Madame Web’ spinoff of ‘Spider-Man’

According to Deadline, actress Emma Roberts (“Scream 4”) is the latest addition to the extended Spider-Man universe created by Sony Pictures.

Roberts has joined the stellar cast of “Madame Web,” which will star Dakota Johnson (“The Lost Daughter”) and Sydney Sweeney.

His character has not been revealed.

Johnson brings the main character to life. Madame Webb is the alter-ego of Cassandra Webb, a mutant diagnosed with a neuromuscular disease that leaves her paralyzed and blind, but her psychic powers grant her clairvoyance and precognition, allowing her to challenge the abilities of her physical body. Her name refers to the mechanical support that keeps her alive and which resembles a giant spider’s web.

The cast also includes Celeste O’Connor (“I’m Still Here”), Tahar Rahim (“Heaven and the Serpent”) and Isabela Merced (“Father of the Bride”).
