Upon the release of the ‘Justice League’ Snyder Cut, director Zack Snyder revealed to Entertainment Weekly that he intends to develop an Eléktron movie.
Eléktron is the alter ego of microbiologist Ryan Choi (Ryan Zheng), one of the scientists who works in partnership with Silas Stone (Joe Morton) at STAR Laboratories.
Sadly, the idea was ultimately rejected after the filmmaker was removed from the “ Justice League ” after his daughter’s death in 2017.
During an interview with Beyond the Trailer, Snyder touched on the subject and gave some details about the film.
“I’ve always wanted to make a film about Ryan Choi set in China, varying between English and Chinese. I think Netflix would have the potential to do that. We are doing this “Army of Thieves”, a pre-sequence of “Army of the Dead” spoken in English, French and German. ”
He continued:
“I wanted to pay tribute to the Chinese fans and I’m sure they would be drawn to the story. It would be a very inclusive movie, it wouldn’t be about a Chinese in an American movie. We would be transported to China in this film.

Finally, he praised Zheng and regretted that the audience couldn’t see more of his performance as Choi.
“Ryan is so lovely and amazing. I love this guy. Too bad we don’t see him as Eléktron, but he’s already a superhero and it was a huge joy to work with him.

For those who don’t know, Ryan Choi is the second character to assume command of Elektron.
Created by Gail Simone in 2016, Choi first appeared in the DC Universe: Rebirth # 01 comics.
He was the assistant of Ray Palmer, the first Eléktron, and discovered his activities of superheroes. Gaining Palmer’s trust, Choi begins to work for him on a double journey, like a kind of Alfred.
After Palmer is trapped on a mission, he asks Choi to put on the biological belt that alters his body size and density and conduct a search to save him.
From there, Choi received Palmer’s blessing to become the new Elektron.
Recalling that the Snyder Cut got 95% audience approval.
For comparison, the previous approval record was “ Batman Begins ” and “ Batman – The Dark Knight, ” which received 94% public approval. Next is “Wonder Woman” with 83% audience approval.
