According to Deadline, five new actresses have joined the cast of ‘Dune: The Sisterhood’, a spin-off series from Denis Villeneuve’s adaptation.
Sarah-Sofie Boussnina (“The Colony”), Shalom Brune-Franklin (“The Tourist”), Faoileann Cunningham (“The Man from the North”), Aoife Hinds (“Normal People”) and Chloe Lea (“Foundation”) have been confirmed in the production cast.
Boussnina will play Princess Ynez, an independent young woman struggling with the pressure of her responsibilities as heir to the throne; Brune-Franklin will play Mikaela, a strong Fremen woman who serves the royal family while longing to discover her home planet she never knew; Cunningham will play Sister Jen, a sidekick-in-training at Sisterhood’s school; Hinds will play Sister Emeline, an acolyte from a long line of martyrs; Lea will play Lila, the Sisterhood’s youngest sidekick.
Emily Watson, Shirley Henderson and Indira Varma star in the production.

Diane Ademu-John is joining as creator, writer, co-showrunner and executive producer, while Alison Schapker will also serve as co-showrunner and executive producer. Emmy winner Johan Renck will direct the first two episodes.
The story of ‘Dune: The Sisterhood’ is set 10,000 years before the events of the film, approaching two Harkonnen sisters amid the dangers and political strife of the space saga. The origin of the Bene Gesserit brotherhood will also be explored.
As of now, the series does not yet have a release date.
