“Set 10,000 years before the events of ‘Dune,’ the plot will follow the Harkonnen sisters as they confront forces that threaten the future of humanity, creating the legendary sect known as the Bene Gesserit. “
In an interview with The Playlist, screenwriter Jon Spaihts gave an update on the project.
“We are still working on the series and I am not allowed to say too much. Despite the delay, the project is still alive. I ended up being transferred to work, not only on the 2nd part of “Dune “, but also to explore other cinematic perspectives in the universe of the franchise.
He added, indicating that there is more than one derivative in the pipeline:
“We’re still figuring out what those other projects are, and again, I’m not allowed to say too much about that. But ‘Dune’ is a very rich universe, a universe in which there are many creative possibilities that can branch out in many directions.
As of now, there is still no prediction for the debut of the derivative.
Remember that the first film, which already has a confirmed sequel, is available in the HBO Max catalog!
