The Duffer Brothers, creators of ‘Stranger Things’, reveal their plans for the fifth season. It’s still unclear what will be in the plot of the new year, but the writers of the series already know very well what they are preparing for the long-awaited finale.

According to Variety, the ending of “Stranger Things” will bring a bit of all the previous seasons. However, the goal would also be to “return to the beginning” of everything, when Will was gone.

“Season five, from our perspective, is kind of the culmination of all the seasons, so it has a bit of each. Part 3 is our big summer season with big monsters, and part 4 was psychological horror. I think what we’re trying to do is go back to the beginning a bit, in a kind of part 1 tone. But also, in terms of scale, it’s more in line with what Part 4 is. So hopefully there’s a bit of everything,” the writers said.

It was also revealed that the first episode of the fifth season, titled “The Crawl”, has already ended. And we can start to have high expectations, as Netflix executives apparently cried at the meeting where the overarching story map was presented.

“As important as the supernatural, we have so many characters now, most of whom are still alive. It’s important to conclude these arcs because many of these characters have grown since the first season. So it’s a balancing act between giving them time to finish their arcs and also ironing out those details and doing our final reveals.”
