A long journey started months ago with the specific aim of concretely encouraging workers in a specific sector, that of road hauliers. And now the driving license bonus of up to 2,500 euros, dedicated to specific categories, is a reality.

Indeed, in recent hours, the text of the measure desired by the Draghi government has been published in the Official Journal. An allocation of 3.7 million for 2022 and 5.4 million per year from 2023 to 2026 with a single objective: to support the expenses of 18-35 year olds who decide to pass the heavyweight driving license. But be careful, because we are talking about a license or a driver qualification card (Cqc) of type C, C1, CE, C1E, D, D1, DE and D1E.

In particular, the C license in a driving school costs around 1,200 euros, while those who prepare the theory as a privateer and only practice in a driving school can pay at least 300 to 400 euros less. For the driver’s qualification card or CQC (compulsory for those who want to work as a transporter) the costs exceed 2,000 euros. Instead, the cost of the E extension ranges from 700 to 750 euros. That is why the premium would cover all these expenses.

The license bonus is presented in the form of a voucher and must be used in the period up to December 31, 2026 for the professional training of new personnel. A service intended for Italian and European citizens which covers 80% of the expenses incurred. It can only be requested once, it does not constitute the taxable income of the beneficiary and should not be accounted for in the ISEE.

It will be managed through the “Road transport permit voucher” platform on the portal of the Ministry of Equipment, dedicated to aspiring beneficiaries and driving schools wishing to be approved. As for the other bonuses, to submit an application you will have to register by authenticating yourself via Spid, Cie or Cns and must be used no later than 60 days from its issue. Instead, within 30 days of the issuance of the invoice showing the value of the voucher, the value of the voucher will be paid to the driving school. On the other hand, those who are smart will be canceled immediately, with penal consequences.
