Disney will launch ANOTHER streaming service to compete with Netflix in Brazil.
Star + (Star Plus), will launch in Latin America on August 31 of this year as a streaming service for adult audiences that will offer: ESPN content, such as live events from the most important leagues and programs sportsmen; original, regional and international Star series, cartoons, films, documentaries and productions, including exclusive content.
Thanks to the new streaming service, and just a click away where and when you want, subscribers in the region will have access to a personalized experience of a catalog that in Brazil will include, among other content:
Cartoons, like all seasons of “The Simpsons” and other popular content, like all seasons of “Family Guy”, “American Dad!”, “Futurama”, “Bob’s Burgers”, “Duncanville” and the new original Star series: “Solar Opposites”. Movies ranging from classics that conquer all generations to box office hits and recent releases that debuted streaming on Star +. Star + will also include box office hits, such as “Deadpool” and “Deadpool 2”, “Logan”, “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “The Devil Wears Prada”; film franchises such as “Alien”, “Duro de Matar”, “O Planeta dos Macacos” and “Implacable Search”. A catalog that continues to grow with original Star productions, entirely developed in Latin America. From the launch of Star +, series of different genres will open which will provide historical, cultural and social reports specific to the region and relevant to the local audience. Among other titles, Star + dramas such as “Santa Evita”, “No fue mi culpa” and the third season of “Impuros” will arrive; comedies, such as “El Galán” and “Los Protetores”; biographical films, such as the stories of Pancho Villa and Silvio Santos; dramatic comedies, such as “Alternative Therapy” and “El Encargado”; documentary realities, such as “Lives that marked yours” (unpublished episodes); and the thriller “Insânia”. Passionate sports content with the unparalleled quality of ESPN production and images, which will allow you to experience sports in an unprecedented way, expanding the options for accessing live sports. ESPN branded domestic and international sports content will include a wide range of leagues and championships, with live events from CONMEBOL Libertadores, Premier League, LaLiga, NHL, MLB, as well as rugby, tennis, golf, cycling, boxing and MMA. games (like Bellator), among other sports. At the same time, Star + will offer successful programs in Latin America, such as SportsCenter and ESPN KNOCKOUT, as well as ESPN-branded series and documentaries.
The service will be available on devices with an Internet connection and can be purchased separately or as part of a bundle package with Disney +.
