Filmmaker Ryan Coogler spoke to Screen Rant about pop star Rihanna’s involvement in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” where he says her involvement has everything to do with the proposal for the soon-to-be-released sequel.
“It made sense that it was a woman, someone who would bring that feeling not just with words, but with a sense of motherhood, which is a big theme in this movie. I think she was in a particular space of her life, but she got interested. I think it was because of the trailer, when she saw the performances that everyone was offering,” Coogler said.
Which continued, “But the truth is, once she finished the job, she directly said she did it for Chad’s sake. It delights me as I speak now. Chad brought us together. He continues to unite us. I am grateful for the gift she gave us and to have joined our family.
“I can’t wait for people to see how this is used in the film,” concludes the filmmaker.
