According to Variety, Clancy Brown (“Star Troops”) has joined the cast of “Dexter” revival.
The actor will play Kurt Caldwell, the main villain of the new season.
The character is described as “the unofficial mayor of the small town of Iron Lake.” Powerful, generous, loved by all – he is a true man of the people. If he protects you, consider yourself blessed. But if you disturb him or hurt someone he loves, God help him ”.
Recently, actor Michael C. Hall said he hopes the rebirth will fix the original series’ “disappointing end”, which remains one of the most criticized endings on small screens to this day.
“Let’s face it, viewers thought the show’s conclusion was very disappointing and there was always hope that a story was worth it. I include myself in this group which asks: “What happened to this guy?”. So I am delighted to come back. I never had the opportunity to play a character several years later.

He adds, citing the result of the classic series ‘A Sete Palmos’, as an example of a satisfying ending: “I really thought it was justified for Dexter to do what he did. I think there are some criticisms related to that, and there are also criticisms of how it ended, and they are valid. We live in a time when expectations are very high and as simultaneous as the reactions of the public. I have already participated in both extremes; “extremely satisfying” and “extremely disappointing” endings. “
It’s worth remembering that the plot of the revival will take place ten years after the events of Season 8 and will not take place in Miami, where most of the series took place.
Check out the synopsis published by The Hollywood Reporter:
“Ten years after Dexter Morgan’s disappearance in Hurricane Laura, the new episodes will accompany the character living under a new identity … Far From Miami.”
Marcos Siega will return to direct six of the ten episodes. For those who don’t know, he had already directed nine episodes in previous seasons.
The ‘Dexter’ revival is set to debut in 2021.

Clyde Phillips, executive producer of the original series, will be the rebirth showrunner.
“Dexter” spanned eight seasons, ending its plot in what is considered, until today, “one of the worst series finals of all time.” Will the revival help cleanse the image of the series and correct the mistakes of its outcome?
Remember, all eight seasons of the original series are available on Amazon Prime.
