“Devolution”: the adaptation of Bigfoot by the author of “World War Z” is under development

According to THR, Legendary Entertainment is developing an adaptation of “Devolution”, based on the book by Max Brooks, author of “World War Z”.

James Ashcroft (“Coming Home in the Dark”) will be responsible for the realization.

The filmmaker will also update the script alongside his partner Eli Kent.

In the plot of the book …

The story centers on an investigation by a journalist 13 months after the Bigfoot massacre in the community of Greenloop, Washington. Greenloop is a small ecocentric community made up of six smart homes and a central community house. The events of the massacre by the brother of Kate Holland, one of the villagers still missing. The plot intersects with passages from Kate’s diary and additional interviews with zoology experts, a Forest Service official and others, to provide the reader with some context on the nature of Bigfoot.
