The increasingly hot topic of expensive bills will land on the afternoon of November 4 in the Council of Ministers, the second in the Meloni government. The executive of the first female Prime Minister in the history of Italy promises an effective intervention even with few funds available.
Expectations are therefore mounting for the measures that the CDM intends to adopt. Rising electricity and gas bills are hitting Italian families and businesses hard. This is a theme, explains Maurizio Leo, the new Deputy Minister of Economy at Adnkronos, which is also an “absolute priority”. And despite the fact that there is a race against time and there are few funds available. According to forecasts, there would be at least 15 billion euros in aid for families and businesses to meet the onerous bills.

These would be measures contained in the update of the document on the economy and finances which will be discussed in the afternoon in the Council of Ministers. To better understand the government’s action against costly bills, Deputy Minister Leo outlined the next budget maneuver in the CDM where the approval of the updated Def. “We are defining the path and working on the next steps,” explains the representative of the Brothers from Italy.

“At the Cdm we will analyze the situation and the resources available, also in light of what will emerge as additional income. There was an increase in VAT linked to inflation and to this is added the growth of +0.5% in the third quarter. From the Council of Ministers of November 4 “a strong signal will come to lighten the weight of the bills of citizens and businesses. There will be an investment, I believe that we will reach 7, 8, 10 billion to contribute strongly to the reduction of bills”, anticipated the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani on Tg5 on November 2. Even the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs insisted that for the government “the priority is the bills, the sacrifices that families and businesses make”. “That’s why – assured Tajani – there will be a very clear signal in the CDM, we take on the problems. We understand very well what the difficulties are and we will do everything to facilitate the situation of our compatriots in difficulty”.
