David Harbour, interpreter of Jim Hopper in ‘Stranger Things’, participated in Netflix’s Geeked Week and made some revelations about his personal life.

In one, he surprised guests by saying that his “World of Wacraft” addiction nearly ruined his life…

“In 2005, I got totally addicted to WoW. It ruined my life for a year. I mean, I was kind of crazy and insane. I was a night elf warrior named Norad, and he was the second strongest of my entire team. But I was exaggerating.”

Ironically, the star said it was another game that helped him quit WoW.

“When I was introduced to ‘The Sims’, I realized it was a much more introspective game because I saw myself in my avatar. As I developed his acting skills, I lost my playing time… Like? Do you understand?”

He continued:

“In the game, my character was an actor and I was helping him improve his speech and expressions, but I was sitting there all the time. I remember my avatar reached a certain level in his career, and I I kept trying to get him to work – he was like a supporting actor – but I wanted to make him a star. There came a point where the character just wanted to lay on the couch, so I got into it. It was kind of a nod, like I was witnessing my own life in character.
