‘Cyberpunk’: Netflix is ​​developing an animated series based on the game

Netflix has announced that it is developing an animated series based on the popular game “Cyberpunk 2077” titled “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners”.

The plot follows a young man trying to survive in a city of the future, full of technology and body modifications. Having everything to lose, he chooses to stay alive by becoming an edgerunner – an outlaw mercenary otherwise known as cyberpunk.

CD PROJEKT RED, the company behind the game, will produce the series – which will feature a creative team formed with the talents of “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt”.

The animated series has been in development since 2018.

Studio Trigger, the famous Japanese animation company, will be responsible for bringing the series to life and bringing the Cyberpunk world to life with its vibrant visuals.

With 10 episodes ordered, the production will be released in 2022.

‘Cyberpunk 2077’ is an Action and Role-playing video game developed and published by CD Projekt. Released in 2020, the game’s story takes place in Night City, an open world with six distinct regions located within the universe of the Cyberpunk franchise. It’s played in first person, with players controlling a customizable mercenary known as V, who can acquire hacking skills and machines, an arsenal of ranged weapons, and melee combat options.
