In an interview with Bloody Disgusting, director Jessica M. Thompson revealed that there is an EXCELLENT take on horror “The Invitation.”
Unlike the cinema version, the new edit will have more blood and violence, and will be available as soon as the film is released on VOD.
“The R-rated (PG-13) version has been released in theaters, but the R-rated (R) version will be released online on VOD. There are more prosthetics and blood in this version, but I still think we we lost some of the tension by revealing the monster. So we still keep the mystery but there’s a little more violence [na versão para maiores]. And more blood.
She adds: “There are also more insults and the sex scene is a bit longer. These are some of the differences that we were lucky enough to introduce in the R-rated version.
It should be remembered that the horror will be released in domestic theaters on September 15.
