According to Deadline, Disney has announced that it will be producing a new original animated short titled “Cousins.”
With two episodes of approximately 11 minutes, the plot will follow an eccentric 10-year-old girl named Tater as she uncovers a magical secret and enlists the help of her 12 cousins to explore the novelty.
Tater will document his adventures in a journal that will come to life with his creative imagination.
Still no release date, the animation is inspired by the childhood of executive producer Natasha Kline, who worked as a storyboard designer, director and screenwriter on projects such as “The Neighbors Greens”, “South Park “, Lego Ninjago: The Movie and ‘Home: Adventures with Tip & Oh’.
In an interview with the portal, Kline explained that:
“’Cousins’ takes place in my childhood summers, lived with my cousins under the same roof in a multicultural Latin American family. Everything revolves around the comedy that was born from this wonderfully eventful setting. I didn’t see myself or my culture represented on screen, so I’m excited to share my family dynamic through these new Disney characters and stories.
