‘Cobra Kai’: Ralph Macchio says Terry Silver’s comeback was always on the cards

‘Cobra Kai’ fans were stunned when Netflix confirmed the return of Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) in the long-awaited Season 4 first official teaser.

For those who don’t remember, he was the main villain of “Karate Kid 3 – The Final Challenge”, released in 1989.

And, during an interview with The Wrap, Ralph Macchio, co-star and producer, said that the introduction of the villain has been scheduled since season 1.

“One thing we did was dive into the arcs seen in the movies, but we couldn’t deliver too many at once. We had to put in little clues until it was time to move the story forward in a natural way. “

The performer Daniel LaRusso also praised Griffith’s work and can’t wait to see the audience’s reaction when the villain returns.

“We’ve talked a lot about how and when to bring Terry Silver back, especially how he’s going to relate to Kreese (Martin Kove), Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and Daniel LaRusso. Thomas is really wonderful. I am very happy to have you back and look forward to hearing how the public will react to your return.

Sadly, Season 4 still doesn’t have a confirmed start. The other three seasons are already available on Netflix.

Enjoy watching:

It’s worth remembering that Peyton List (Tory) and Vanessa Rubio (Carmen) were promoted to regular characters for the next iteration, while Dallas Dupree Young and Oona O’Brien were the latest additions to the cast.

COBRA KAI takes place 30 years after the 1984 All Valley tournament, and the inevitable conflict between Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) continues.

In the third season, they are all stunned after the violent brawl between the two dojos at the school, which seriously injured Miguel. As Daniel revisits the past for answers and Johnny seeks redemption, Kreese further manipulates his vulnerable students with his ideas of domination. The soul of the Valley is at stake, as is the fate of all students and senseis.

Besides Ralph Macchio and William Zabka, the cast includes Courtney Henggeler, Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser and Jacob Bertrand.
