Finally, 18 months after its official announcement, the reboot of the classic tokusatsu series ‘Kamen Rider Black’ (1987), ‘Kamen Rider Black Sun’ premiered this Friday (28) on the Amazon Prime Video streaming service.
The 10 episodes, lasting about 40 minutes each, are available with original sound in Japanese and subtitles in Portuguese.
The Portuguese subtitles serve the name of Kotaro Minami, the alter ego of Black Sun, as Issamu Minami, as well as in the Brazilian dubs of ‘Kamen Rider Black’ and ‘Kamen Rider Black RX’.
It should be mentioned that ‘Kamen Rider Black Sun’ is directed by Kazuya Shiraishi (‘The Blood of Wolves’), script by Izumi Takahashi (‘Tokyo Revengeers’), visual concept creation by Shinji Higuchi (Evangelion, Shin Ultraman) and directed by special effects by Kiyotaka Taguchi (Ultraman Orb, Ultraman Trigger: New Generation Tiga).
Hidetoshi Nishijima (51), protagonist of the film ‘Drive My Car’ (winner of the 2022 Oscar in the category of best international film) plays the protagonist Kotaro Minami, alter ego of ‘Kamen Rider Black Sun’.
Have fun watching:
Hidetoshi Nishijima, an actor who rose to prominence for his work in the Oscar-nominated Japanese feature film “Drive My Car,” will play Kotaro Minami, exactly the Black Sun – Nishijima will even be in the movie “Shin Ultraman.” Tomoya Nakamura will play Nobuhiko Akizuki, Shadow Moon’s alter ego.
The reboot of “Kamen Rider Black Sun” is set to debut in the first half of the year across Japan.
