“City of Lies”: A Criminal Thriller Starring Johnny Depp and Forest Whitaker Now Available on HBO Max

The crime thriller City of Lies, starring Johnny Depp and Forest Whitaker, is out now on HBO Max. The production recently debuted on the calendar.

In the plot, Russell Poole is a Los Angeles Police detective tasked with solving one of America’s most iconic cases of violence: the deaths of famous rappers Notorious BIG and Tupac Shakur. In the midst of the investigations, he will still have to deal with all of the old rivalry between the West Coast and the East Coast over the musical genre.

Shea Whigham, Dayton Callie and Toby Huss round out the cast.

Brad Furman signs the direction, from a screenplay written by Christian Contreras.
