Another impending scam that Italians must try to escape. This time it concerns those who have current accounts at the post office
The word scam is now commonplace when it comes to services, especially those performed online. In fact, the use of the network represents a double-edged sword, between absolute usefulness but dangers which flow.
The Poste Italiane logo (web source)
The latest major company to fall into the hands of hackers, or rather to be used for two purposes on the Internet, is Poste Italiane. It is the Italian company that has always been involved in postal, banking and telecommunications services nationwide.
Let’s be clear: Poste Italiane is absolutely not involved in the scams that are flooding the web or electronically. Instead, its brand has been misused by cyber crooks for unsavory purposes, which is to extract sensitive data and money.
The false message in the name of Poste Italiane is circulating on the web: avoid it at all costs!
A classic scam is circulating these days, in the form of phishing. That is, the creation and sending of fictitious messages by e-mail or SMS, in this case the Italian Post Office.
With this operation, specially created by cyber hackers, the intention is to lure unwitting users through such well-constructed messages. Within them there is always a link, a very dangerous weapon to extort all the data from you. A prepaid card from the Italian post office (Facebook)
The oiled mechanism is now well known. Anyone who clicks by mistake on the link offered in the email or in the message on a mobile phone is directed to a reserved area created ad hoc to steal your personal data, passwords and therefore also access your current account.
The fake message linked to Poste Italiane and PostePay customers essentially reports a hypothetical anomaly in your account, inserting a link to press to log in and really try to find out what it is.
This is clearly a scam, mainly because it is sent to anyone, even users who do not have a Poste Italiane account. Moreover, the same company has already communicated to its customers for some time that it has nothing to do with such communication. The advice is always the same: avoid accessing strange messages like this and delete them immediately.
