According to Variety, Luciane Buchanan (“Sweet Tooth”) has joined the cast of the “Chief of War” series, developed by Apple TV+.

The actress will play Ka’ahumanu. Described as “intelligent and progressive”, the character is curious about the world beyond his native islands.

Don’t forget that the series will star Jason Momoa (“Aquaman”).

Additionally, the star will also be credited as a co-writer alongside Thomas Pa’a Sibbett and Doug Jung. Previously, Sibbett collaborated with Momoa in the films “Braven” and “The Last Manhunt”.

Jung is best known for writing the screenplay for “Star Trek Beyond” and a few episodes of “Mindhunter.”

The plot of “Chief of War” takes place around 1795, when the four main kingdoms of Hawaii were constantly in a state of war. Tired of bloodshed, the legendary warrior Ka’iana left Maui’s army to live a peaceful life as a fisherwoman.

However, he is repelled in battle when the seers identify him as the one who will fulfill an ancient prophecy that will bring peace to all of Hawaii.

“On this show, as of the second episode, I’m 60 and have 15-year-old twins,” Momoa said (via Comic Book). “Even though he’s a warrior, he’s a man trying to keep his family together. I’ve never played a father before. I’ve never had the opportunity to experience that feeling.

As of now, there is still no information on the directors, the rest of the cast, and any premiere predictions.

As the project is in its early stages, updates should be released over the next few months.

Remember that this will be Momoa’s second project for Apple TV+ after the series ‘See’, which was renewed for the 3rd season last year, but still without a release date.
