The latest heroine films to be released, such as “Captain America”, “Birds of Prey” and “Wonder Woman 1984”, have divided the general opinion of fans. But on sites that allow public voting, they suffer from the same problem: a legion of negative votes that usually don’t match the quality of the output.
Yes, the films have had a few issues and it’s okay for audiences to fall apart from them, but the heightened amount of hatred indicates that the productions may be suffering from machismo.

In the IMDb, the first “Wonder Woman” appears as an “exception” and is the highest scoring DCEU film, scoring 7.4 out of over 549,000 votes. The second is “Man of Steel” (7.0, 686,000 votes), followed by “Shazam! (7.0, 250,000 votes) and “Aquaman” (6.9, 365,000 votes).
“Wonder Woman 1984” ranks last in the universe of nine films with a score of 5.7 out of over 65,000 votes, even behind “Batman vs. Superman”.
