Charles Revolution in the Royal Family

Celebrating his very first birthday as king, Charles decided to amaze everyone with real revolutions within the royal family. Indeed, the Sovereign wanted to claim important patronage, which formerly belonged to Prince Philippe. On the contrary, he redistributed old sponsorships belonging to his son Harry and his brother Andrea, for the benefit of the other brothers.

The new changes therefore reflect a growing confidence on the part of King Charles towards his younger brothers: Prince Edward and Princess Anne. To celebrate his 74th birthday, Charles has however decided to give himself a gift by taking on a role dear to Prince Philip. Indeed, the King has officially become Ranger of the Great Park of Windsor.

To manage

Buckingham Palace announced the news with the release of a new photograph of the Sovereign, who poses leaning against an old oak tree in a tweed jacket, tie and corduroy trousers. The role of Ranger involves supervisory work in the management of one of the oldest land holdings in the UK. But that wasn’t the only novelty that accompanied the king’s birthday.

Carlo sorts the titles of Andrea and Harry, who snubs his birthday

King Charles wanted to make a gesture of trust towards his brothers Anna and Edoardo. Yesterday, in fact, he sent a letter to the House of Commons asking that they be included among those who can replace him in case of emergency or need. In accordance with the laws of regency, in fact, this role is held by the queen consort and the five members closest to the Sovereign. But the incompatibility of Prince Harry and Prince Andrew, excluded from royal duties, was immediately highlighted.

Rather than permanently removing their names from the list, King decided to call for an expansion of this group to include the most active members. He writes: “In order to ensure the continued efficiency of public affairs when I am not available, for example when performing official duties abroad, I confirm that I would be very happy if Parliament thought expedient that the number of persons likely to be called upon to act as Councilors of State under the Regency Acts of 1937 and 1963 is increased. So that includes my sister and brother, the Princess Royal and the Earl of Wessex and Forfar.”

Whether it is for this reason, or simply because of the coldness of the relationship that has lasted for months, impossible to know. But it certainly clashed with the choice made by Harry and Meghan who chose not to post any messages of good wishes for Carlo, who blew out the candles for the first time as Sovereign.
