Air of crisis between Charlene and Alberto?

It was July 1, 2011 when Prince Albert II, a golden bachelor of the Grimaldi family, married Charlène Wittstock, a former South African swimmer. Two twins were born from the marriage in 2014, Jacques and Gabriella. It sounded like a fairy tale, but from the very beginning there was a lot of gossip, which caused a state of unease in Charlene. Defined by many as the sad princess, many tabloids speak of depressive attacks accompanied by increasingly frequent psychic breakdowns. In 2021 the Princess Consort, long absent from the Principality, took refuge in South Africa. To curb the gossip, Charlène left statements to Monaco Matin saying that: “It is unfortunate that some newspapers sell such lies about my relationship, about my life. […] Alberto was very supportive, we talked about these malicious articles together and he did everything to protect me and our children”.

Who is Gunilla Persson?

Gunilla Persson, 63, Swedish TV star who rose to fame for the soap opera Dallas. The Showgirl recently gave an interview to Svensk Dam magazine, in which she recounts that she first flirted and then had a clandestine relationship with Albert of Monaco in the early 1980s and continued until the early 2000s. The actress confessed having met the Prince at a gala dinner in 1988. She had been invited by the American Ambassador and had had the opportunity to sit next to the handsome, charming and celibate Alberto. According to Gunilla’s story, there was sympathy between the two from the start but the relationship was complicated. She was already married and could never marry Albert: according to the Constitution, the Prince was forbidden to marry divorced women. Alberto describes him as: “an absolutely wonderful person. However, the affair becomes more complicated than a simple flirtation and the Palazzo di Corte returns to tremble. Gunilla Persson has a daughter, born in August 2002. According to the tabloid LeGossip, the former model indirectly hinted that Alberto is the father of the girl. The Palazzo denies all the facts and does not respond to these new revelations which, for sure, make the relationship between Charlene and Alberto even more sour.
