It should be remembered that the deadlines for the car tax depend above all on the date of registration of the car. While in case of first registration, the stamp duty is due from the month during which the registration takes place. Consequently, the payment must also be made in this month or in the month following that of the registration if this occurs in the last ten days of the month. That said, if the car is sold, the stamp duty must be paid by the detected owner on the last day to make the payment. For example, if the stamp expires in May, payment can be made before June 30, without penalties.

PagoPA allows you to choose how to pay taxes, fees or charges to public administration and other subjects adhering to the platform that provide services to the citizen. Then, it will be possible to pay for public administration services (taxes, car tax, etc.): online or via the IO app. However, you will need to set Paypal as your preferred payment method.

Specifically, the taxpayer can set PayPal as the preferred payment method on the IO app, an app that, among other functions, also allows car tax to be paid; or you can choose PayPal when paying stamp duty on the Aci website (bollo.aci.it) or other entities authorized to collect car tax, adhering to PagoPa.

To pay the tax in installments, the following steps must be followed:

Go to the website of the institution where to make the payment; Select PayPal or in the “refine search” section at checkout; Type PayPal; Choose who to make the PayPal payment (Intesa Sanpaolo or Paytipper); Finally accept the conditions.

By doing so, you can pay the tax in three convenient installments, without paying interest or other additional costs. Installment is granted for amounts ranging from 30 euros to 2,000 euros. In addition, of the three payments, the first is cashed immediately, while the other two in the following two months, with direct debit from the card or the associated bank account.
