Now everyone knows, even at the top of the government, that among the most indigestible taxes for Italians there is certainly the Rai fee. The government tax to enjoy the programming of State TV and Radio is subject to many loopholes adopted by Italians to avoid paying it, such as, for example, assigning several television sets to the grandfather who always paid. For this reason, the Renzi government decided to adopt it in the bill to prevent this tax from being evaded. As is now known, however, this will have to come out of the bill from 2023.
Indeed, in order to access PNR funds, the Government undertook to remove the charge from the bill, given that the EU considered it to be an abusive charge, that is to say not attributable to actual consumption. of electricity. But now there is a big problem that the legislator has not yet revealed how the same will have to be paid from next year. This task will therefore fall to the new executive elected after the elections on 25 September. In any case, in recent days some hypotheses have been made in this direction, so let’s discover the three possible solutions.

As we had widely anticipated, the payment of the RAI fee was included in the electricity bill in order to counter the high evasion of this tax. In fact, despite the controls, this tax has been largely evaded by the Italians. To date, the amount is 90 euros and payment is made by direct debit from electricity bills in ten monthly installments of 9 euros each, from January to October. Before 2016, however, the total to be paid was 113 euros per year. Now, several assumptions have been made for the payout.
The most accredited at the moment is the one using the 730 model. These days there is a lot of talk about paying the tax and it has also come to consider entrusting the withdrawal to a collection company credit. The French model is also very popular, where the equivalent tax was first abolished and then integrated into the property tax. The problem is that there is currently no property tax in Italy. Finally, the last solution is to make the tax a regional type like the car tax. This will therefore be one of the problems of the new executive ready to take office at Palazzo Chigi.
