There are cannibalistic scenes in the movie Bones and All. But what did actor Timothée Chalamet really eat during the film?
In recent days, all the newspapers dealing with cinema have spoken of the handsome and talented Timothée Chalamet, who left for Italy to present his latest film, Bones and All. After the Venice Film Festival with director Luca Guadagnino and his colleague Taylor Russell, the actor was in Rome and Milan for the preview of the film which will be released in our theaters on November 23.

The film is a kind of learning novel that crosses several genres, from romance to horror. One of the most famous scenes, in fact, shows the two main actors eating human flesh. The two artists, of course, weren’t really cannibals, but what was it made of, this mush they swallowed?
Taylor Russell revealed the truth during an interview with Slashfilm, which, among other things, also won the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best New Actress this year.

If Taylor Russell is in his first experiences, Timothée Chamalet has been playing for several years already, chaining success after success. After a few small roles, he became world famous thanks to the role of Elio in the film Call Me By Your Name in 2017.
In 2022, the young artist returned to work with Luca Guadagnino, this time with Bones and All. The cannibalism scene undoubtedly touched many people, who however also wondered what strange food the two protagonists were really made of.

The actress explained that it was not about meat, but about a dessert. “Basically, Luca told us we were eating corn syrup. But I know it wasn’t, because I remember the fabulous special effects team and our food managers telling me that it was actually maraschino cherries, dark chocolate and Fruit Roll Up. If that sounds good to you, great. Otherwise it does not matter. But it was a very sweet and tastier mix than anything you can imagine.”
The film hasn’t officially been released in theaters yet, but many have already declared that it’s a masterpiece and that, perhaps, it could win the Oscar for Timothée Chalamet.
