‘Blade’: ‘Werewolf in the Night’ Director Discusses Possibility of Directing Reboot

Directed by Michael Giacchino, Marvel’s Halloween special titled “Werewolf in the Night” was a huge hit with critics and audiences alike.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the production garnered 90% approval from critics and 93% from fans.

Because of this, Comic Book asked Giacchino if he would be interested in rebooting “Blade” after Bassam Tariq dropped the project.

In response, Giacchino said the following:

“Listen, I love Blade. I think he’s an amazing character. He’s one of my favorites. But I feel like this thing is already moving in some ways and I’m moving in some ways. other things as well. In terms of time, it’s kind of crazy. So I feel like I want it to be a great movie. I want it to be an amazing movie because this character deserves it so much. But as far as achievement goes, not now.

Tariq will no longer be directing the ‘Blade’ reboot as he is unhappy with the changes in production dates. With filming scheduled to begin in two months, Marvel Studios has decided to postpone filming to 2023.

Therefore, the premiere has been postponed from November 3, 2023 to September 6, 2024.

Previously, The Direct revealed that the script would be rewritten from scratch as it did not satisfy actor Mahershala Ali, who found the text “lifeless” and the action scenes completely “dull”.

Beau DeMayo — who wrote “Moon Knight” — has been hired to rewrite the screenplay for Stacy Osei-Kuffour (“Watchmen”).

The original script would show Blade’s origin in the 1920s and have several time jumps to the present day.

“I’ve been told that the current script for ‘Blade’ is around 90 pages and has only TWO (lame) action sequences. Mahershala [Ali] seems to be very frustrated with the process. But that’s exactly what the sources tell me. Don’t take it for granted.”

“As a half-human/half-vampire, Eric Brooks (Ali) has honed his skills in hunting down the undead who have long terrorized mankind. A human-vampire hybrid since his tragic birth, Blade has spent a lot of time trying to rid the world of vampires like the one who killed his mother.Over the years, he’s mastered his own unique style of battling monsters of all kinds.

Milan Ray, Aaron Pierre and Delroy Lindo are also part of the cast.

The reboot is titled “Blade: The Vampire Hunter” and makes direct reference to the first anti-hero comics, created in 1973 by screenwriter Marv Wolfman and illustrator Gene Colan.
