Marvel Studios and Disney will release “Black Widow” simultaneously on Disney + and in theaters in Brazil and the United States.
The novelty, however, did not please the owners of the cinema networks.
According to the Wall Street Journal, a premiere clash is brewing between two longtime Hollywood partners: Disney and theaters.
Theater owners were upset to learn of Disney’s decision to release the film both in theaters and on its Disney + streaming service for an additional $ 29.99 (in the US). Disney has also postponed the film’s release until July.
Now, some theaters are considering ways not to release one of the most anticipated films of the U.S. summer, according to those involved in the talks.
The streaming launch will cause cinema networks to lose audience and money with the launch, which did not make the executives happy at all.
The premiere takes place on July 9, 2021 (almost two months after the previously announced date).
