Benedict Cumberbatch has already won awards for several of his works, such as in the ‘Sherlock’ series and in the films ‘Attack of the Dogs’ and ‘The Imitation Game’.
Because of this, there’s no doubting the caliber of his performance and delivery to a character.
However, the star admitted that when he takes on his role as “Doctor Strange” in the MCU, he feels more relaxed about the demands of his performance.
In an interview with The Talks, Cumberbatch said working in the MCU doesn’t require big actors.
Throughout the conversation, he said most of the recording time was spent in front of a green screen waving his arms and pretending to cast spells.
Have fun watching:
“Acting at Marvel isn’t some kind of acting academy where you deconstruct layers of yourself to get out of the cocoon. Of course, we have to have a modicum of theatrical knowledge, but at the heart of a film like ” The Avengers” has the action and it’s hard to bring out your emotional streak when the focus is on all the chaos going on around you.”
He goes on to say that he always draws good lessons from each of his works:
“It turns out that these movies don’t really focus on massive character development, because the story is always at the center of something that will lead to another movie. But I learn a lot in each of my crafts. J ‘d like to think that I learn by watching other people. It was wonderful to see Robert Downey Jr in ‘Endgame’. It’s wonderful to see how other actors allow themselves to be immersed in this fantasy world.
Remember that ‘Doctor Strange 2’ is now available on Disney+.
