A dress created on the spot at Paris Fashion Week has gone viral: in the center of the platform appears a half-naked Bella Hadid, wearing only pajamas and sandals. And the rest is (almost) magical.
Bella Hadid is confirmed to be the great protagonist of Paris Fashion Week. The supermodel isn’t afraid to dare and took part in an intriguing experiment that has gone viral on social media and has fascinated even those uninterested in fashion. On the Coperni podium, she stood out by entering half-naked and positioning herself in the center of the stage. Wearing only the panties, Bella Hadid let the designers create a dress from scratch, on the spot, through spray-on fabric that landed on her curves to become a dress.

A magic, or so it seems to the most curious but in reality it has a very solid scientific basis. How was it possible to create this dress from scratch? And how is the vaporized fabric used?

Realized in a few minutes, but planned and developed for very long months. The total white dress made on site at Paris Fashion Week and worn by Bella Hadid is a creation by Arnaud Vaillant and Sébastien Meyer. Together with Manuel Torres, director of Manufacturer Ltd and creator of the Spray-on fabric, they chose Bella Hadid as their guinea pig model. By mixing fashion and technology, Coperni marked a new milestone in the history of its brand and the fashion system, demonstrating that the limits are only those we set for ourselves.

Shortly before closing its Spring/Summer 2022 show, the brand offered a unique show with the participation of Bella Hadid. The model arrived on stage wearing only a pair of nude panties and white shoes on her feet. Well positioned in the center of the platform, she was immediately surrounded by a group of technicians who coated the mannequin’s body with a white spray that quickly solidified into fabric. Once the first phase was completed, the fabric was modeled, transforming it into a dress with boat straps and a side slit of the skirt.

The dress, quickly renamed spray dress by Vogue, is therefore made from a spray of cotton fibers and synthetic materials integrated into a polymer solution. How does it work exactly? Once the spray takes root on the body, the liquid evaporates and solidifies in the tissues. The credit goes to the Fabricator, a substance that, when exposed to air, transforms into a solid state and becomes fabric. That’s why the dress didn’t really appear by magic, but it’s definitely an enchantment worn by Bella Hadid.
