In an interview with ComicBook, Frank Grillo, who plays villainous Bones Crossed in the MCU, revealed that he initially refused to return in “ Avengers: Endgame. ”

The actor admitted that he was unhappy with his character’s direction after signing a contract with Marvel for seven films, but was sidelined after only two brief appearances in the Captain America films. .

Crossbones‘ journey took an unexpected path and he left the MCU very, very quickly, right? And I was a little upset about that because I had signed a seven movie deal with Marvel. It was like, ‘Oh, I’m going to be a part of the Marvel Universe’, right? But that did not happen. Then they called me up and said, ‘Look, we need you to come over for a week to shoot the new Avengers movie,’ and I said, ‘Why? And they thought, ‘Well, we can’t …’, and I said, ‘No, I’m not going to do that.’ So I hung up. They called me back and I said to leave me alone.

He adds, revealing what made him come back to the movie: “My 22 year old son said to me, ‘You should do the Avengers movie.’ When I asked him why, he replied, “Because I tell you to do it. I don’t care if you’re in the movie for ten seconds. It will be part of the story. It will be something great. It will be important. And that’s why I came back, for my son, not because of the Russo brothers.
