‘Assassin’s Creed’: Netflix Live-Action Reboot Hires Writer For ‘Hard to Kill’

Variety recently announced that ‘Assassin’s Creed’, the live-action series in the classic game franchise, has hired a big name to join the team.

Reports state that Jeb Stuart, a Hollywood industry veteran known for his jobs as “Hard to Kill” and “The Fugitive,” was hired to sign the screenplay for the adaptation.

The project is the result of a partnership between Netflix and Ubisoft, the company responsible for games, and will have game developers Jason Altman and Danielle Kreinik as executive producers.

In a statement, Altman celebrated the news by saying:

“For over 10 years, millions of fans around the world have helped transform the ‘Assassin’s Creed’ brand into an iconic franchise. We are excited to create a series with Netflix and develop an enduring saga for the franchise. “

Peter Friedlander, vice president of original content at Netflix also spoke out, saying the platform will delve into original material:

“We are very excited to partner with Ubisoft and bring to life the rich and creative narrative for which ‘Assassin’s Creed’ games are so beloved. Its historic worlds are breathtaking, and its global appeal as one of the best-selling video game franchises of all time has made our eyes shine. We’re dedicated to creating epic and exciting entertainment, taking care to delve deeper into the original material to deliver something quality fans can enjoy.

As of now, there is still no plot information, so it is unclear which of the characters in the franchise will be the protagonist of the series.

Recalling that the game was first adapted on the big screen in 2017, with Michael Fassbender in the lead role, as well as Marion Cotillard and Jeremy Irons.

Budgeted at $ 125 million, the feature film directed by Justin Kurzel was a commercial and critical failure, grossing $ 240 million worldwide, which ended plans for future sequels.
