For years, it was speculated that director M. Night Shyamalan’s films could be connected or exist in the same universe as the MCU and DCEU.
Speculation increased when Shyamalan made a cross between “Closed Body” and “Fragmented” in the thriller “Glass”.
But is a Shyamalanverse possible?
In an EXCLUSIVE interview with CinePOP to promote his new thriller, ‘Tempo’ (Old), Shyamalan explained that he has no interest in connecting his films – although they may exist in the same universe.
“I have to see these films as completely different experiences. In order for me to be excited, I need to think about new things in theaters. I want to introduce new things as a human being. A connected universe seems strange, but all of my films are anchored in some sort of reality. In some ways, they can exist in the same universe. But I don’t want to carry the weight of getting the Tempo characters to face an alien invasion in ‘Signs’ 10 years ago. I don’t want this burden to be on the characters. “, did he declare.
