Anya Taylor talks about her Furiosa for the new Mad Max prequel/spin-off: “It was a life-changing experience”. Charlize Theron is also on the set.
During her press reviews for the new film Furiosa, the prequel/spinn off of the legendary film Mad Max: Fury Road, Anya Taylor-Joy, whom we all adored in the lead role of the Netflix television series, The Queen of Chess, got to talk about his character and his reimagining of the old film. Speaking about her experience, the actress confessed that it was a difficult task: trying to revisit a character that her colleague and Best Actress Oscar winner, Charlize Theron, had already canonized. An experience that also proved to be an excellent challenge and one that put her to the test, changing her life.

Here are the words of Anya Taylor-Joy: “It will take me the full two years between us and the release of the film even to be able to process what I left just 12 days ago. It was the experience that changed my life the most with all these talented artists. It’s amazing, I feel like I’ve grown so much, both professionally and personally. It’s something unique.”
The star who stars in The Menu with Mad Max star Nicholas Hoult also talks about the advice given to him by his colleague. Here is what he said.
Furiosa: the new prequel to the Mad Max saga
Speaking of her co-star and standout, Nicholas Hoult, Anya Taylor-Joy said in an interview, “He’s been incredibly supportive of me. We really love each other. We became real friends and as he knew that after this film I was going to shoot Furiosa immediately, he simply said to me “Everything will be fine”. Believe me, it will be a remarkable experience, a film that I can’t wait to see”.

Rather evoking Furiosa, the actress also told an anecdote related to her lack of a driver’s license: a fundamental requirement in a dystopian woman who concentrates all her forces on motor racing and on having gasoline as a status of infinite wealth.
In fact, Taylor-Joy can’t drive a car off set, but during the film’s production she says she even learned to do car stunts, thanks to the work of George Miller: “I don’t I don’t have a driver’s license so I can’t drive in everyday life I can’t drive on the freeway I can’t park but if you need me to do a quick U-turn in a truck, I can do it without taking the team down, which is great. Maybe one day I’ll stay in one place long enough to get a driver’s license. [..] Speaking of what could be my first car, I confess that I am too spoiled by the fact that Mad Max cars were built especially for the film. There’s also the fact that if a driving instructor were to get in the car with me, all I know how to do is this crazy stunt. In fact, I would really like to get a stunt driver’s license so I can do all the driving scenes in my movies, which would be very remarkable. However, I fear for the poor man or woman who will take the test with me because I will not be delicate”.
On Furiosa, George Miller co-wrote the screenplay with Mad Max co-screenwriter NIco Lathouris. Colin Gibson, Margaret Sixel and Ben Osmo were also on set. The director of photography chosen by the director is Simon Duggan. The film is scheduled for May 24, 2024.
