According to Variety, “Eternals” star Angelina Jolie will play famed opera singer Maria Callas in a new film by Pablo Larraín, known for directing the controversial Princess Diana biopic with Kristen Stewart, “Spencer.”
The story will tell the story of the tumultuous, beautiful and tragic life of the world’s greatest opera singer, relived and reimagined during her final days in 1970s Paris.
“I take my responsibility for Maria’s life and legacy very seriously. I will give everything I can to meet the challenge. Pablo Larraín is a director I have admired for a long time. To have the chance to tell more of Maria’s story with him and with a screenplay by Steven Knight is a dream come true,” said Jolie.
Recall that Maria Callas was a Greek soprano singer, born in the United States. The artist is considered one of the most famous opera singers of the 20th century.
There is still no title or release date for this new Angelina Jolie movie.
