‘The Tourist’ Season 2 Is On The Way
The first thing we want to set down is that ‘The Tourist’ is officially getting a season 2. The thriller show has already been renewed on March 2022. Season 2 of The Tourist will consist of six episodes, with filming beginning in April in Dublin, Ireland.
The second season will focus on the main character uncovering his roots while facing new challenges. Jamie Dornan and Danielle Macdonald will also return as Elliot Stanley and Helen Chambers in the second season.
The official logline reads, “Whilst Elliot fights with his own demons, Helen is left to pick up the pieces of a larger mystery; forcing them both to confront foes, old and new.”
Jamie Dornan Will Reprise His Role In ‘The Tourist’ Season 2
The show would be dull without Jamie Dornan. Fortunately, he’ll be back as the main character in the second season. Jamie made a statement upon his return, stating that he’s incredibly excited to be back for another season.
He said, “I’m incredibly excited to continue the story with ‘The Tourist.’ Harry and Jack Williams are brilliant writers, and I can’t wait for audiences to see how well Ireland and its characters are utilized to keep them guessing as the tale progresses.”
Danielle Macdonald is also returning and she is excited to work with Jamie once more in the second season. Macdonald is looking forward to another wild adventure with the team of The Tourist.
She said, “I’m so excited to team up with Jamie again and return for another wild adventure with an amazing cast and crew.
Jack and Harry Williams are brilliant storytellers and it’s exciting to see what their minds will come up with next.”
‘Dark & Thrilling’ Narrative Will Follow In The Tourist Season 2
Sarah Hammond and Daniel Walker, Executive Producers for Two Brothers Pictures, teased that season two will also be successful in appealing to the audience.
They also noted that the second season will include comedy embedded throughout the dark and thrilling story.
The official statement of the two reads, “Series 2 of The Tourist will surprise and delight viewers in the same way that the first did so successfully.
With comedy embedded throughout the dark and thrilling narrative, we’re sure this series will continue to appeal to a wide audience and are excited to explore that in a different setting.”
In a joint statement, Harry and Jack Williams mentioned that The Tourist is quite unlike anything they had written previously.
They said, “The Tourist was unlike anything we’d written before and we’re hugely grateful for the incredible response to series one.
It’s been an exciting journey getting stuck into that world again with the quirky characters that were so loved, and seeing where we could take them next, whilst continuing to deliver a tonally unique and off-beat drama.”
