After POLEMICS, Marvel agrees to cut gay kissing scene and ‘Eternals’ intimacies in the Middle East

After several controversies involving LGBTQ + representation in cinemas, “Eternos” will be re-released for airing in countries of the Middle East, including Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates.

A version of the film will be released that will remove any scenes involving kissing or physical intimacy, whether straight or gay. This is normal practice in these markets.

In Qatar and Kuwait, the feature film has been banned. According to the site, the problem isn’t just with the gay kissing scene, but because these markets have historical issues with portraying gods and prophets, which they consider blasphemous.

In an EXCLUSIVE interview with editor-in-chief Renato Marafon, actress Angelina Jolie spoke about her thoughts on people who revolt with the movie’s gay kiss:

“I think they are ignorant people. Why would that bother a smart person? It is something beautiful. “
