After Leaving DC, Walter Hamada Will Oversee Paramount Pictures’ HORROR Projects

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Walter Hamada has been hired to oversee Paramount Pictures’ horror productions.

The website says the studio’s plan is to release several mid-budget horror films in theaters and streaming services in 2023.

Hamada, who recently left DC Films, is no stranger to the genre, having produced several hit titles for Warner Bros, such as the “Conjuring” universe, “It: The Thing” and “Friday” remakes. ‘ and ‘A Hora do Pesadelo’.

“With his successful track record, Walter is the perfect partner to build legendary franchises in the horror genre,” said Paramount Pictures President Brian Robbins. “As evidenced by the success of ‘Smile’, there is room for original stories in the global marketplace.”
