The ‘Fate: The Winx Saga’ series was recently canceled by Netflix shortly after the 2nd season premiered, but that doesn’t mean the production won’t have more projects.
According to original creator Iginio Straffi, there are plans to continue the story in other ways, including spinoff animation and a “big budget” movie, both of which are already in development.
Via social media, Straffi commented on the cancellation of the live-action series and said there were “bigger reasons” for scrapping the show, revealing the executives want to tell stories from the Winx world of different ways.
“‘Fate’ was an exciting adventure, a major achievement and a hit watched by millions around the world, reaffirming the power of the Winx world,” he wrote. “I’m working on many Winx projects for the near future, some of which I’m very excited to share with you. First, a new anime series is in production. Yes, a reboot that promises to take you back to the world of Winx. Stay tuned for more about him and where to find him. The second bit of news is about my longtime dream of producing a big-budget Winx movie that you all deserve. Despite all the love you’ve given the Winx, I’m working hard in hopes of bringing you a high quality movie where you can embrace the Winx world, re-embrace all the core values of what this iconic brand stands for.”
