Via Facebook, Travis Mills, the director of the movie “Treasure Valley” announced that actor and producer Jay Pickett died at the age of 60 while filming the film.
Best known for his work on the “General Hospital” series and the “Rumpelstiltskin” movie, Pickett died on March 30 while shooting a scene on horseback.
So far, the cause of death has not been officially revealed, so it is not known whether he had an accident or suffered a heart attack.
Born on February 10, 1961 in Spokane (Washington), the actor made his first acting steps at the end of the 1980s, in the series ‘Rags to Riches’ and ‘China Beach’.
However, he was not recognized until after 1991, when he brought Dr. Chip Lakin to life in 34 episodes of the soap opera “Days of Our Lives”.
His last major work was in the film “A Soldier’s Revenge”, directed by Michael Feifer.
In the post, Mills reinforces how Pickett was appreciated by all for his good heart and considered an artist of immense talent:
“Many of you have heard of the tragedy that happened two days ago. Jay Pickett, our protagonist, writer, producer and creator of this film, passed away suddenly while we were on set in getting ready to shoot a scene. There is no official explanation as to the cause of his death, but it appears to be a heart attack. Everyone present did their best to keep him alive. Our hearts are broken and we mourn for your family, who are so devastated by this shocking tragedy. “

“As many of us know, Jay was an amazing man. He was kind, gentle and generous. He was one of the best actors I have ever worked with and it was an honor to collaborate with him. Everyone who knew him, even for a brief moment, could feel his love and his wonderful spirit. Difficult to find the right words now to say more. His closest friends said he was very happy to do “Treasure Valley,” and I hope he really was. He did what he loved: acting, riding, making movies. And he was gorgeous. “
