Absolutely do not eat this type of meat: warning from the Ministry. As usual, the note on the official website contains all the details of the withdrawal

This is a microbiological risk dictated by the possible presence of Salmonella in chicken and turkey meat. All consumers are welcome to return the product.

As happens almost every day, the Ministry of Health is issuing very important notes. Indeed, the products which must be withdrawn from the markets due to a health risk are indicated inside. Also in this case we refer to a lot of meat, as has happened in the past. Salmonella is always scary, presumably present in chicken and turkey meat.

Since the beginning of this week, the withdrawal from the market of “Le Cock” sausage packs produced by the Scarlino di Taurisano sausage factory has been underway in Campania. The white meat with which they were produced would be risky for the health of citizens.

The initiative was triggered after the analyzes carried out by the Istituto Zooprofilattico del Mezzogiorno on a sample of the product (a pack of 10 frankfurters with chicken and turkey). The presence of Salmonella type B was found, which caused symptoms such as fever, nausea, intestinal disorders and vomiting in a child from Caserta.

The Prevention service of the ASL (local health company) has therefore decided to launch the food alert to carry out the checks planned in the various points of sale where the product has been delivered.

“Confirmation of the cause of food poisoning – reads the ASL opinion – was obtained following official samples taken from frankfurters by the veterinary services and sent to the Istituto Zooprofilattico del Mezzogiorno . We are talking about ‘Scarlino’ Lecock chicken and turkey sausages in packs of 10 units of 100 grams. The batch/deadline is 02/03/23 L1, produced by the Scarlino srl salami factory in Taurisano (Lecce). It is distributed in many points of sale in the Campania region and the province of Caserta”.

As always, the advice is to return the packs to the point of sale (be able to obtain a full refund) and not to consume under any circumstances.
